Behind the great success of ‘Love, Death + Robots’ there is a lot of creativity and great artistic work, but also a very important part of management, production and business, which is what Able & Baker and Blow will share firsthand. In this talk, they will reveal what it is like to work for the USA and what challenges a study faces working at a distance on a project as complex as this. Blow Studio has made the animation production of the episodes “Three Robots” and “When the Yogurt Took Over” of Netflix’s anthology of animation “Love, Death + Robots”. On the other hand, Able & Baker has made the animation production of the episode “The Dump”.
Alejandro Jiménez is co-founder of Blow, the animation studio that recently has made the animation production of the episodes ‘Three robots’ and ‘When the Yogurt Took Over’ of Netflix’s animation anthology ‘Love, Death + Robots’. Over the last 8 years he has made the production and animation direction for international advertising campaigns. Meanwhile, as a director he has written and co-directed the short films ‘Project Shell’ (2012), “5” (2015) and ‘Alleycats’ (2017).
Self-taught who is interested in 3D from a very young age and at age 18, in 1998, he began his professional career in the infoarchitecture sector. In 2004 he gets into Kandor Graphics, where he begins to work on what he really loved, 3D animation. After a time collaborating with different companies as a freelancer, in 2009 he began working at Vodka Capital, a place that aroused his curiosity for the creation and development of content. After having worked in practically all the departments involved in an animated production, he decided to found Able&Baker, where he could integrate his experience from executive production.
